I was running a bit late this morning, and of course I wasn't satisfied with the outfit I had picked out from last night. The patterned tank is another one of my "accidentally shrunk in the dryer" pieces that I can't seem to part with. Unlike the shrunken maroon top I wore last week, I can easily wear this under something...Or so I tell myself. :)
Green top: Old Navy (2009)
Tank: Ann Taylor (<$15, 2008)
Black pants: Old Navy ($20, 2009)
Black sandals: 6pm ($25ish, 2008)
Long necklace: Ann Taylor Loft ($10, 2008)

I can't tell you how much I love this shirt. It has a small hole in it that isn't really fixable (but also not very noticable), but I still wear it and I probably won't part with it for some time. It's just so very comfortable and I love the draping and the way I don't have to wear a tank top for work. :) My coworker a few offices down actually has the same shirt and it always seems like we want to wear it on the same day, but we haven't yet.
I don't really have any exciting weekend plans so I don't know if any pictures will get taken. I'm just looking forward to Stacy and Clinton's last episode of the season tonight. I really wish I could be on that show :)
Also-D pointed out that I need some new fancy posing areas. So we're working on it. I know that's very exciting to everyone. :)
Top: Ann Taylor Loft (I have no idea)
Jeans: NY & Co (around $25, 2007 or 2008)

I didn't realize this shirt was so sheer. Although that may have been due to the flash.
I didn't pick out my outfit last night, which I always regret in the morning. And I also can't believe I'm going this casual at work. I feel like it's a Saturday or something. But my coworker walked by in a tie-dye tank and almost acid wash jeans, so I guess there are still steps descending into casual purgatory. :)
After work I'm heading over to the cheesecake factory with a friend that will soon be getting weight loss surgery. Tonight is her last night before drastically changing her diet to a daily 400-600 calorie intake so we're having a last hurrah of sorts. I know that it seems odd to go out to a restaurant specializing in highly caloric food when facing weight loss surgery, but it is what it is. I'm just there to support and help with the cheesecake eating.
Added note-I have blisters on the bottom of my feet. Again. The shoes I wore to walk around DC in nearly killed me. I thought I was going to have to crawl to my car. Perhaps I should donate them...or at least put moleskin over the stupid tag that hits my heel wrong. So this morning all I wanted were flats. Oh and the movie we saw last night, Adam, wasn't bad. It definitely wasn't (500) Days of Summer though :)
Lastly, here is a picture of Katy Kat looking like a little demon (which she often is):
Navy shirt: Gap Outlet ($4.99, July 2009)

I really can't wait until the weather gets cooler. I'll miss my open-toe flats, but it will definitely be worth it. :)
I'm going out to see the movie Adam tonight, and I'm taking the metro into DC so I wanted something that wouldn't be too hot. Also, these shoes are very comfortable to walk long distances in.
Both the ring and the bracelet have a story. It goes like this.
I searched for "green quartz" rings on ebay quite some time ago, and ended up winning this ring for a whopping $2 plus s+h. Nothing too insane. Well then I was in Kohl's browsing their jewerely section when I came across the same exact ring. For $300. On sale. Seriously!
About 4 years ago I was out shopping with my mom and we came across this bracelet (at Macy's) that we both loved. We were all set to spend about full price on these bracelets (crazy, I know) when we did what we both do best, and that was convince ourselves out of them. So we went on our merry way without the overpriced bracelets. Flash forward to Christmas of 2007 with my mom up here visiting and doing our holiday shopping. We were wandering around the jewelry clearance section and what do I come across? The bracelet we both loved. Unfortunately there was only one left, and I told my mom that we could send it back and forth so we both got to wear it. So far it's stayed in my jewelry box. :)

Yeah, I feel like a sailor today with this tie-neck shirt. It's short in length because I accidentally stuck it in the dryer once...so I really should just part with it. But I love the color. I also had a different pair of shoes planned for today, but I decided to wear my new loafers that I just got in the mail. Which leads me to.....
My shoe ban. I have a shoe problem. I love them, I love buying them, I love admiring them. This even extends to buying shoes for D! And as a result, I have too many. One day I'll take pictures of the boxes upon boxes that are piled up in various places. So from now on, for every pair of shoes that I buy (which I am also trying to cut down on) I will donate/sell a pair. So last night I had to get rid of two pairs of shoes, since I had to get these same loafers in black as well. Le sigh.
So I am new to this brand, Softspots. I was in DSW with a friend looking for work shoes for her, and she was trying on all of these loafers. So I saw a pair that had this great cushioning on the inside-Softspots. They were amazing! And they were over $60, so I said my goodbyes and vowed to look for them online. Well, the very next day 6pm was practically giving away Softspot shoes. So I ordered two pairs and here we are. Unfortunately, the pair I tried on at DSW fit at a 9, but the ones I ordered are a little slippy in the heel. But it's nothing a few foot petals can't fix. For a better view of these shoes go here.
Also, as a special surprise, we have a picture of what D is wearing today. I love this outfit. :)

Yesterday's pictures came out horrible, mostly because someone was actually standing in my office while they were being taken so I felt I couldn't really pose for them. And my outfit was boooooring. Although it did become a little more exciting when I ripped the button off of the pants on accident. I mean, the whole center of the button is no longer there. Whoopsies. I'm not sure how to fix that....
Purple top: Old Navy ($6, July 2009)

And finally, a picture of the red velvet cheesecake that I have finally tried after many failed trips to the cheesecake factory (consensus-good but not my favorite). :)

I feel nothing about this outfit, which is a shame because I'm going out after work for some cheesecake and The Time Traveler's Wife. But this has just been a busy week and I'm tired. Plus the heat is really getting to me. I can't stand how uncomfortable I get walking around outside, which is what we'll be doing a lot of tonight.

I met up with A last night and we did some shopping. For the first time someone spent more than me in 2/3 stores! This shirt is part of what I bought yesterday. I managed to get out of Old Navy with only this shirt in hand. I'm quite proud of myself. As long as I don't think about the 2 nail polishes and crazy expensive hair gunk that were purchased at Sephora and the beautiful maroon/burgundy boots I found at DSW. But more on that another day. :)
Also, I finally broke down and bought a new quilt from urban outfitters. They were on sale for $89 and this pattern was one I couldn't resist. Neither can Katy Kat.

I had to give a presentation today so I wore something I felt good in. I got this necklace from etsy and I love it. It was originally 3 strands and I added the clear round crystal ball necklace because the seller added in a few free things (one of which was the added necklace). Did I mention that I love it?

I should probably admit that I have a lot of floral or patterned dresses. I mean, a closet full of them. When I was in FL visiting, my friend kindly told me that I was not allowed to buy any more black and white dresses. And she's right-I have a lot. Well, at least 5. I just find black and white to be so classic! Although my dress choice today isn't very classic...It's more summery, which makes sense since it's way too hot to function outside. I'm hoping the dress shrinks in the dryer because it's way too big on top, which is why I'm wearing a cardigan and cinching it with a belt. I'm also laughing in this picture because D ran into the door handle in my office right before he took it. I am amused when other people run into things.
I also wore shoes I wouldn't normally wear because my coworker and I are going for pedicures today. I'm so excited!

We had a rather eventful weekend. Saturday we went out to dinner and to a couple of stores, so I wanted to wear something that I wouldn't normally wear to work. I chose this black maxi dress because a) I've never worn it, and b) it's amazingly soft and c)I can't imagine wearing it to work even though I'd love to. I threw a shirt over it because I'm not a huge fan of going sleeveless. :) Also, I promise I really do have two feet, though the pictures would tell you otherwise.

Today I decided to wear one of the dresses that I got at NY & Co (online) about a month ago. I saw it in the store (in blue, not the one I'm wearing now) and I decided to try it on, even though it was full price. I shouldn't have done that because I fell in love with it and actually paid full price for it (horrifying, I know-but I was returning stuff so it wasn't actually costing me anything since I had already paid the cc bill). Fast forward to a couple months later and it's on clearance on the website for $20. So I got the other two colors. My point-never pay retail at NY & Co. Their stuff always goes on sale.
I tried mixing gold and silver today. I'm not used to it, and I've been trying it more often in the past couple of weeks but for whatever reason I'm still not a huge fan. But I wanted to wear the necklace, which is gold, and the bracelet, which is silver, so I threw in a two-toned ring and earrings. The bracelet is one I've been eyeing on ebay for quite some time from Brighton, and I finally bid on it. :)

D met me in my office this morning when I got to work and he was able to take a shot of me there. I didn't realize how cluttered my office looks.... :)
I really want to figure out a new way to do my hair. Pulling a portion of it back like I have been recently is fairly new (meaning I haven't done it for 4 years now) but I want something a little more drastic than changing my part or pulling some of it back...Any ideas? I'm sort of against dying it because I used to dye my hair deep red (seriously) and it was a pain to keep up with it. And I find it hard to work with my naturally curly hair. I can't just go and get cute bangs because they curl up...
Anyway, I'm going out for cider tonight with J, so I wanted something casual and comfortable. I guess Old Navy really worked for me today.
I hope you all have a lovely weekend!

I need my photographer back! I cannot figure out how to make the tripod hold my camera correctly. And when I take my own photos they always look blurry. :(
So yesterday I was wearing one of my NJ outlet finds. I actually have 2 of this shirt, but the other one has blue piping details.
I love the blue shoes. They were on sale at Target last week and I just couldn't get over the color. Sad thing is, they're uncomfortable. I'm hoping once I wear them in a few times my pinky toes will be able to move. The next size up was way too big :(
Also, that bracelet is actually a navy blue with these light blue spots all over it. It reminds me of water droplets, or leopard print, but I prefer thinking of the spots as water. I may resell this on ebay because it doesn't look like I thought it would.

Today I'm wearing this white cardigan thing for the last time. I bought this at Old Navy (and in 2 other colors, of course) and I cannot figure out how to wear it without making myself look like a giant sack. They're comfortable and flowy, but I think they just don't look good on me. So unless anyone has any great suggestions, they're going in the donate pile. At least I feel sort of thin looking in these pants. Go black go! :)

My grandmother told me it was going to be "cooler" today. 94 as opposed to 96 does not equal cooler, in my opinion.
I chose this dress because of what V wore on 8/5. I actually have the same dress as her, but I opted for this one because I couldn't be a total copycat :) I wish I could get away without wearing a tank top under all wrap dresses, but that is just not meant to happen.
The brown ring is yet another one that I admired at the QVC outlet but I bought mine on ebay. This one particular jewelry seller must think I have a problem :) But it was under $20 w/free shipping! Also, as you can see, I finally got some closeups of the bird bracelet. I <3 it.
Tonight I'm meeting up at a Cafe with N (I've decided to graduate from "a friend" to initials. yay!)

I think I'm in shock (the pleasant kind, of course) that people read this blog! I mean, how did you find me? Now that I know other people are seeing this, I took the worst picture possible this morning. I'm not sure why it came out so blurry, or why the shoes look so bad with the pants, but I feel better in it than it looks. The pants are extremely light and comfortable, which is good considering it's up in the 90's today and we're doing downtown to see a free advance screening of Ponyo.
Oh yeah, and these bronze shoes? They're the same as my beloved silver ones. I went to DSW to exchange 2 pairs of shoes and I ended up getting these in black and bronze because they went on clearance.
My mom actually bought this ring at QVC and I adored it, but they didn't have it in my size. I was able to find it on ebay and I got it for less than my mom did (and hers was 60% off!)

I'm really having a hard time this week. When I look in the mirror all I see are flaws and cellulite and I'm just really getting myself down about it. So that makes it especially hard to pick out clothing that I want to take pictures of myself in. So my apologies for not being diligent with the blog yet again. I also noticed a couple new people have commented, which makes me feel great. Thanks so much for taking the time to read this blog.
Today I'm in the gray trousers that I wanted to wear on Tuesday. These were going to go in the ebay pile, but I decided to keep them and I'm glad I did. I used to think they were too wide in the leg and not long enough, but if I wear them with flats I'm alright. As you can probably tell by now, I love the black and turquoise combo. Besides, any outfit I can wear to make this necklace match pretty much makes everything alright. The ring is my last purchase to show you all from the QVC outlet. My mom loved it as well, but they didn't have it in her size. I plan on finding it on ebay and getting it for her for the holidays.
My weekend looks pretty nice. I purchased a new over-the-door shoe rack that holds a whopping 36 pairs (in their boxes!) that I'm really excited about. Saturday afternoon one of the new girls I met is coming over and we're going to put up some listings on ebay. Then Sunday I'm off to the pool with D and my Irish friend.
Hope you all have a good one.

I did another switch this morning with my outfit choice, but this time I'm more satisfied. I was going to wear gray trouser jeans, but I felt like the time to wear crisp white cotton skirts is nearing an end. I also wanted to get another use out of this skirt since I was so dissatisfied the last time I wore it. I thought a darker shirt would hide the waistband of the skirt better, and I think it worked.
My ceramic night with the new girl went well. She's really nice and we have a lot in common. I was supposed to meet up with someone else for drinks tonight but it looks like we're going to meet tomorrow. I have no idea what to wear! Since we're going into the city I want to wear comfortable shoes that I can walk in easily....
And before you go have some mad men fun:

Happy Monday all! Ugh :)
D actually picked out this dress on our way home from Rehoboth Beach. We made one final stop at the outlets off of Route 50 and this dress was on sale at the Gap Outlet. I know that horizontal stripes aren't usually good, but I've also heard that if the stripes are smaller than the width of your knuckle, then it's ok to wear them. But either way, I like this dress. It's quite comfortable.
Can you see my gold chunky bracelet? One day I'm going to take detailed pictures of it. It's got these cute designs with owls and cardinals and tree branches going all the way around. But the thing that amuses me the most is when you look at the inside of the bracelet, each piece is numbered so when they were putting it together it would be in the right order. I have another bracelet that is just like this one in silver (with a different design) and it isn't numbered. Go figure.
The shoes were an impulse buy earlier this year. I thought the dress looked vaguely nautical so I wanted to wear my seashell sandals. Plus, I don't get to wear these sandals very often. Can you see how ridiculous my tan looks? Only the tops of my feet got burnt. And a patch on the side of my knee. But you can't see that in these pictures :)
Another reason I wanted to be comfortable today is because I'm meeting up with a different girl right after work tonight and we're going to paint ceramics. I have high hopes, because it seems like we have a lot in common and I find it very easy to talk to her. So, wish me luck!
