nothing comes to mind...

Good afternoon ladies (and not ladies),

We all know how some days are good, and others are less-than-good. And folks, I'm in the less-than-good time period right now. I've been wearing some great recent purchases, but I just don't feel like setting up the tripod and sharing my mug with the internet as of late. So you get some stock photos of what I've been wearing.

What I wore yesterday, with a purple cardi, a turquoise necklace, and bronze flats:
(credit-this is my Ideeli invite)
Dress: Donna Ricco via Ideeli ($39, March 2011)

And this necklace is the best part of today's lackluster ensemble-a blue striped tee and brown pinstripe pants:
Whale necklace: ModCloth ($15, March 2011)

We're almost to Friday!

Monday is out to get me...

Good late afternoon all,

Did you all have a nice weekend? It's been crazypants day today at work so I have to keep this short. I wanted to show you all my nice new (inexpensive) purse that I bought just for the Sebadoh show that D took me to this weekend. Fitting my stuff in there was no small challenge. I also got new sneakers (my first pair in a while). Why is it so hard to find comfortable supportive flats that aren't sneakers?

(Saturday night)

I hope you all had a nice weekend/Monday!

Saturday night:
Striped tee: INC via Ebay ($15.50, October 2010)
Jeans: Calvin Klein ($48, January 2010)
Sneakers: Puma via Nordstrom ($55, March 2011)
Small purse: Piperlime ($13, March 2011)-I had ON rewards money, which made this very affordable :)

Grayish sweater: Ann Taylor Loft ($10.99, November 2010)

leopard spots in the dark

Good morning everyone,

D has to go into work a little late for the next few days so I figured I would take advantage and make him play photographer. Too bad it's not just a tad bit lighter outside. Also, the rain sort of screws things up :) And yeah, I gave in and wore tights. It was pretty chilly this morning.

I hope you all have a wonderful Thursday!

Black top: Ann Taylor Loft ($30, October 2009)-This is the first time I've worn this. No joke :)
Leopard skirt: Spiegel ($32, March 2011)
Black tights: Spanx
Red shoes: Jessica Simpson via T.J. Maxx ($40, February 2011)
Necklace and earrings: Ann Taylor Loft (old)

spring weather isn't here yet...

(Why yes, I do randomly disrobe while standing in the backyard)

Hi all,

A lot of the bloggers seem to be showing off their bare legs (and sometimes sandals) but we're getting more cold weather in the MD area. *sigh* I can't lie; I'm a bit envious. Maybe tomorrow I'll be daring (or stupid, seeing as I'm still getting over a cold) and go with bare legs regardless of the weather.

Speaking of weather (common, but so easy!) D and I booked our tickets for our week long vacation in FL! I can't tell you all how incredibly excited we are. It's all thanks to my dad ending up in the ER a couple months ago. You see, my parents haven't been on a proper vacation together in many years. And when my dad got sick, they both got to thinking about how much they'd like to take a vacation together before they're too old to enjoy one (their exact words, not mine). But, my parents have a cat (well, she used to be my cat) and she's incredibly needy. So needy that they've actually canceled plans and gone home early just because they were worried about the cat's mental well-being. So what would they do about the cat? They couldn't leave her for a whole week by herself. Enter the boy and I, and our offer to cat-sit for a week while they travel up the coast. It's perfect! A beautiful house, a pool, a jacuzzi, no 91 year old grandmother nagging, and a week to ourselves. It's hard for me to imagine. In fact, I think it's going to be our first proper vacation together.

I just hope we don't forget to feed the cat :)

(Apparently the flower pot was telling me something very serious)

(and then the flower pot told a joke.)

Happy Wednesday!

  Hi all,

Sorry for my recent lack of posts. I left work early on Friday and I stayed home today due to a very nasty cold.. I'm hoping I don't pass it along to my grandmother.

Don't forget the Perricone contest is open until midnight tonight. There are only two people entered right now, so if you want to enter now is your chance. Click here to enter.

Hopefully I'll have a better update tomorrow. :)

teal on Wednesday

 Good evening all,

It feels strange to try and take my photos when it's dark (in the morning) and wait until evening to put up a post. I think I'll start taking my daily outfit photos once I get home from work. I almost forgot to put today's set up :)

This past weekend I went shopping at Forever 21 with two of my coworkers. We went to a Forever 21 in DC because it's the closest location that carries their Faith 21/Forever 21 + line. This top is one of my purchases. I also got a dress, a pair of bike shorts, and a pair of earrings. When F21 first came out with their plus size line I didn't think much of it, but they're getting better with time. Now we just need some consistent sizing :) Have any of you had good experiences with F21?

These shoes were not a good choice. I had to change out of them within the first 2 hours of being at work. Hopefully some heel pads will help with the discomfort.

Happy Wednesday!

Teal cardigan: Ann Taylor Loft (2010)
Brown embellished top: Forever 21 ($19.80, March 2011)

Tuesday is my Monday

Hi all,

I had to take today's photos after work, and since it's pitch black when I'm getting ready in the morning I'll likely have to get used to afternoon photos. Also, I'd like to think that I didn't look this tired all day, but I'm thinking I probably did look a bit under the weather. Oh well, we all have our days, right?

I hope you all are having a lovely Tuesday (and don't forget to enter my contest here!)

Want to win the best anti-aging face cream? Read on!

Hello everyone,

I do have an outfit post, but first I wanted to share the exciting news :) The kind folks that brought you the ShopBop giveaway are back, and this time it's all about your face!

I'm extremely allergic to a lot of products, so I'm very careful with what I use, especially when it comes to my face. I've been using Perricone products for about a year now, and I have definitely noticed a difference in my skin's texture. The downside, of course, is the price. But now you can win a Perricone product of your choosing, as long as it's under $150!

Holy motherload, what do you choose? How about trying on their highly regarded best anti-aging face cream? Click the link to read about what to look for in moisturizers, and how Perricone utilizes key ingredients that help to keep your skin looking great.

If you're in the market for wrinkle creams, check out their picks and compare wrinkle creams.

Interested in winning? The contest is open to all U.S. and Canadian citizens!

Mandatory entry (must be completed before any extra entries):  Visit : Perricone MD and leave a comment on this post with which product (valued at $150 or less) you would choose if you won and include the link to the product in your comment. Also include your email address in the comment.

For a second entry, blog about this contest and leave a comment on this post with a link back to your blog entry. Make sure to leave your email address too!

I will use to draw a winner. The contest ends at midnight (ET) on Monday, 3/21. I will email the winner after it's over.

Good luck!

Are you still with me? I actually did put on clothes today. Here's my proof:

Happy Friday!!

Good afternoon everyone,

After yesterday's polka dots I wanted to get some lines back in my wardrobe. I've probably worn this outfit a few times in the past, but it does the trick and I'm comfortable, so yes to repeats.

I've been spotted!

 Good morning everyone,

Today is Everybody, Everywear polka dot day! Wearing polka dots isn't too much of a challenge for me because I have quite a few dresses that feature the pattern. In fact, I had a little trouble choosing between this one and another wrap dress. Such issues! :)

I didn't want to wear tights today but it's still a bit chilly for bare legs. I can't wait to wear some red sandals with this dress.

Happy Tuesday everyone!

new boots :)

Hi all,

I know it's been said many times before, but I do love a dress with pockets. I also love new boots, and these just happen to be such a pair. After a massive clusterfuck situation with DSW I ended up getting these lovelies for under $40! The mess-up may have been worth it, right?

Are you all ready for the weekend? I feel like I have a million things to do before Monday. Tonight it's date night with D. Whatever you all end up doing I hope you enjoy it!
Happy finally Friday!

a twirl-worthy Tuesday

Good morning everyone,

I had a hard time figuring out what to wear today. I checked the weather, and the forecast made me think that I wouldn't need a heavy jacket. So I decided to break out this light Igigi coat that I bought on ebay last year. I figured the 3/4 sleeves and the lack of warmth would be perfect for what I had decided would be a fall-like day in March. Well folks, it's not fall, and 40 degree weather doesn't really suit this poorly insulated jacket. My bad. :)

I hope you all have a lovely Tuesday!

Navy coat: Igigi via Ebay ($39, June 2010)

Black pants: Gap ($41.65, August 2010)
