my love for ebay is unending...

Good afternoon everyone,

This post was supposed to go up yesterday but I fell asleep around 7 last night and didn't wake up until Friday. I feel well rested for once!

Anyway, do you all use ebay? I've been using it on and off for about 5 years now and while the "newness" has worn off, I still get surprised about some of the great deals to be found. I mean, where else could I find a Lane Bryant shirt for $1.25? Awesome!

How cute are the nail studs on the back of these shoes? Ugh speaking of shoes I need to go through my shoe collection. I went through my shoe stacks this morning. Success! I keep saying that for every X pair I buy I need to donate/sell X pairs (x=the amount bought). I think I have a back log at this point :)

I took a vacation day today and I'm in the midst of cleaning. Hopefully it will be a nice relaxing long weekend. What do you all have planned?

it's a skirt week...

Good evening everyone,

Everyone seems to have an opinion about skirts. Some people love them, others hate them, and in between shorties wear them as dresses and call it a day. I used to fall squarely in the no likey camp, but lately I've been reaching for a skirt more often than pants. This crazy summer weather must be getting to me. Is it too early to admit that I'm looking forward to wearing tights in the fall? Yeah, I guess it is too early.

In other news I really need to adjust my ISO setting. Or perhaps I should learn how to use a camera in the first place :) I had a moment to take these when I went home for lunch and I didn't notice I'm so...luminescent...Yes, that's a nice word for it...Let's just focus on the nice new bag I only paid $18 for...Pretty shiny...And also ignore the wrinkled skirt. I swear this whole thing worked out better in-person :)

hark, an update!

Good afternoon everyone,

I'm not normally one for following trends (at least when it comes to food) so a place like Georgetown Cupcakes has never caught my eye. There's always a long line, their flagship store is on TLC, and that just makes it too much of a clusterf*ck for me to worry about going. But last week my friend suggested getting some dessert there, and it was my other friend's birthday the next day (and her favorite cupcakery) so I thought "eh, I'll try it and worst case-get some birthday cupcakes for the friend." 

Amazeballs. That's what the cupcakes are. I'm totally a convert. It took everything in me not to eat my friend's birthday cupcakes. Fortunately their nearest location is still a decent drive away, so I'll still be visiting my local (not famous) cupcake place. :)

Good evening everyone,

I just wanted to put up yesterday and today's pictures before going to bed. I've been wearing a lot of cardigans lately. It's such a comfortable rut to fall into! The dark green cardi (from Tuesday) is past it's prime, but I refuse to get rid of it until I can find a suitable replacement. I never thought finding a dark blue/forest green cardi could be so difficult. Maybe I'll have better luck in the fall :)

Tomorrow night I'm going to dinner in Bethesda with an old friend, so I'm going to try to vary it up and leave the cardi at home. You'll have to wait to see how it went :)

So Friday I wore this fabulous Lane Bryant skirt. I actually bought this skirt a few months ago, returned it, and regretted it ever since. So I was totally thrilled when I saw it during our FL vacation. Added bonus-it was on clearance plus I got an extra 40% off!

Sunday I wore another FL find to our movie date. I've been wanting a mexican style top or dress but I couldn't justify the prices I saw on ebay/etsy. Then I saw this at Ross and snapped it up :) I paired it with the craziest heels I own, and I managed to keep myself upright during our whole date! It helps that we were seated most of the time though :)

a little white lie

Hi all,

I know it doesn't really matter, but this isn't what I'm wearing today. In fact, I didn't even plan on going in to work. However, I couldn't handle missing out on the floral edition of Everybody, Everywhere so this floral dress is what I wore one day during our vacation. We were at the Sawgrass Mall (it used to be the largest shopping mall in America, I think) and I insisted on taking pictures by the tacky overpriced Rainforest Cafe. I guess their prices make up for how much they paid to have small robot animals everywhere. I think I ate there once when I was a kid and thoroughly enjoyed it. :)

Good afternoon everyone!

So we got back from our week in FL yesterday afternoon and it's been a whirlwind of unpacking, socializing, and cleaning. How was everyone's weekend? Ours was a nice extension of the week-relaxing, swimming, eating, shopping. No complaints here. I even managed to get a very light tan (not that you can tell). My coworkers have all mentioned how "relaxed" I look today. I keep telling them to check back in two days :)

On a side note, I love these jeans. I've been quite surprised with Forever 21's plus size line as of late.
