Good afternoon,

I am not in love with this outfit. I've had it hanging up to wear for the past week and today I just decided to go with it this morning. Actually let me clarify-love the pants and shoes, hate the jean top and tank. I'm constantly pulling up my tank straps and pulling down the shirt. I think this is one for the donate pile.

Good evening,

I'm about to curl up in bed and fall asleep (finally...long day) but I wanted to get today's outfit up. I went out to dinner with a friend and then we hit up the local JCPenney, which is why you see me posing in a dressing room. I haven't been in since they changed their pricing structure and not to sound too pessimistic, but I wasn't too impressed with their selection. But I did manage to find two tops. 

Anyway, back to today's outfit. I was quite proud of my matchy mcmatchiness. The earrings went perfectly with the cardi, which as you can clearly see nicely coordinated with the skirt.

Today just flew by! I'd say I hardly noticed it was a Monday. How did your day go? 

This cashmere sweater didn't get worn during the winter so I decided to take advantage of our cooler weather today and take it out for a spin. Still springlike, but nice and cozy. I'll have to remember to hide it from the moths :)

My all day training marathon went well yesterday, but I was in bed by 8:30 last night. I still feel like I haven't slept! And I'm hoping I won't have nightmares tonight since we're going out with some friends to see the new Joss Whedon movie Cabin in the Woods. I'm pretty excited :)

How was your weekend? We met up with a friend on Sunday afternoon, ran some errands, and had some leftovers for dinner. D wanted me to wear this dress out to lunch, so I humored him. The jacket was so comfortable that I decided to wear it again with today's dress. I wore heels out to lunch but quickly changed after we ate because they weren't very comfortable. :)

Today is pastel day over at Everybody, Everywear and this was the first thing I thought to wear. I had to go for a follow-up at the orthodontist (I'm back to grimacing instead of smiling again) and today was scheduled to be cooler, so I wanted something comfortable. Heck, when do I not opt for comfort? :) Happy Tuesday everyone!

How was your weekend? Mine was pretty nice. Friday's movie and company were great, and I'm still reeling over the wonderful food we had for Easter dinner at my aunt's house. My one aunt makes the greatest appetizers, and I'm not a much of a ham fan but honey baked is just sooooo good. I wish we had taken some home with us :)

I'm so ready for this weekend! Do you all have any easter/passover plans? We're going to a friend's house tonight to watch 28 Days Later (nothing passover related, obviously) because she's never seen it. And considering we're all lovers of horror films, this is a must watch. Then Sunday we're going over to my visit with some family and eat an early dinner. I'm in charge of bringing a dessert. pleated Thursday

Hi all,

This skirt has been sitting in my closet for about a month now, and I've intended to wear it twice but then backed out at the last minute. How is it possible to be intimidated by a pleated skirt? Well, I was. I don't generally want to draw attention to my lower half, and pleats tend to do that on me. But I love the skirt, and it would be a waste of money not to wear it (it's past the return policy time, which was something crazy like two weeks) so today was the day. And while I felt slightly self conscious in the morning, by the afternoon it had won me over. Or maybe I just got really tired and stopped caring. Whichever works :) 

So how about a twirly shot eh? D visibly cringed after taking this photo, so I knew it would have to go on the blog. Goodbye dignity, hello shinyface.

Good afternoon,

After sweating to death yesterday I opted for something light and airy today. I'm not a huge fan of Ideeli (flash sales site) but when I saw this dress I died a little inside (in a good way). It was sold out in my size but I signed up for the waiting list to be informed if it ever came back in stock. When it did come back I let it sell out again because really, I do not need another dress. But I couldn't get the dumb thing off my mind. I showed it to my coworker, who seemed less than enthusiastic about it, but that didn't deter me. After bookmarking the link I would sporadically check to see if it came back in stock, and I decided since I couldn't get it off my mind for more than a week it would be justifiable to purchase the dumb thing if it ever did come back. Then *bam*, back in stock and into my shopping bag. It didn't hurt that it was the only one left. And it was $20. Yeah, all that thought for a dress with a crazy pattern. But I love it. Nice and floaty :) I decided it looked better with gold jewelry and, well, here's the proof.

I also got to show off my pedicure today and I am loving having pink toes. The day before my grandmother's funeral I got my toes painted a bright pink in attempt to cheer myself up. When I broke my leg the next day and had to stare at those pink toes for months I decided I would never get pink nails again. Just goes to show you-never say never (also, avoid breaking your leg is possible. It puts a damper on everything).

 Good evening everyone,

I'm so happy to be back home. We left our new four-legged friend this morning and while she was sad to see us go I'm sure she was thrilled when her family walked through the door. I've gotta say, it took me a day but the dog kinda grew on me. I played hide and seek with her running around the house last night, and she curled up in bed with me before we went to sleep. I even hid my shoes so there wouldn't be any tragic shoe demise stories.  So yesterday was definitely a better dogsitting day :)

Clearly I decided to stick with a neutral color palette during our 2 days away from home. This dress has the cutest little cream bird pattern going on, and I love the draping on the front. Unfortunately the weather was much warmer than I anticipated, and the boots and tights were overkill. I was quite overheated by the time I left work today. Perhaps tomorrow I'll show off my pink pedicure :)

 Hi everyone,

We're dog/house-sitting for some friends and while I'm enjoying the change of scenery our time here has definitely reinforced my no kids/no dogs mindset. Their ginormous chocolate lab woke us up at all hours of the night needing to go outside and when she came back in she wanted to cuddle with us...in bed! Then she took extra interest in my heels (apparently she eats shoes and socks if they're left lying about). She's definitely more needy than my cat that I'm used to :) I think we got less than 3 hours of sleep last night.
